a road bike designed with a simple brief – to be the fastest aero road bike in the world. Not just designed to be fastest when tested in isolation but fastest in the real world.
Watt-saving gains achieved across all areas of the frameset, the Ultra-Aero SL R has been optimised to perform in real-world conditions, specifically around 5-10° of YAW, to simulate the crosswinds commonly experienced by a cyclist. Every aspect of this pioneering aero bike is engineered to slice through the air with class-leading efficiency and scalpel-like precision.

Benchmarked against the optimised and race-proven Endurance SL R, tested with bike and rider, from CFD to wind tunnel and the real world. Resulting in a bike with significant performance gains, delivering an average 69.2 seconds advantage over 40 kms across a full YAW sweep, up to 20°.

The Ultra-Aero handlebar is a groundbreaking innovation engineered for seamless bike and rider interaction. Every aspect of its design is meticulously optimised to control airflow upstream, delivering unmatched aerodynamics, ergonomic excellence, and flawless component integration. Traditional handlebars have long been constrained by industry-standard brake lever designs, but the Ultra-Aero shatters these limitations. By eliminating this constraint, its wake-generating structure creates a Drag Reduction Zone (DRZ), strategically positioning the rider’s legs to minimise resistance. The result? A proven net drag reduction of 2.1% for both bike and rider—translating to a game-changing 23.2-second advantage over a full YAW sweep when compared to the already aerodynamically optimised RI-2 integrated cockpit.
Every element of the frame, fork, and seat post has been meticulously engineered, refined, and rigorously tested in the relentless pursuit of ultimate aerodynamic performance. To minimise drag, the fork seamlessly integrates with the head tube and handlebars, optimising airflow across the full YAW spectrum. Extensive analysis has identified 68mm x 15mm fork blades as the optimal configuration, delivering substantial aero gains at 5° and beyond. The fork’s profile and precise blade positioning work in perfect harmony with the rider and downstream components, ensuring airflow is maximised across the entire bike. This interaction is so aerodynamically efficient that from 10° of YAW, the tube profile doesn’t just reduce resistance—it generates thrust, actively propelling you forward rather than holding you back.
The industry-leading Ultra-Aero carbon integrated cockpit achieves unmatched aerodynamic integration through innovation. Working as a holistic package with the headtube and forks, the handlebars work to manage airflow upstream of the rider. By adding wake generators to the underside of the bars, vortexes are directed around the rider to create a drag reduction zone, resulting in a net drag reduction of 2.1% for both bike and rider. Low in weight and offering stealth cable routing, the super-stiff carbon monocoque handlebar system is ergonomically and aerodynamically optimised for comfort and performance, without significant penalty when riding on the hoods.
The defining feature of any aero bike is its sleek aesthetics and streamlined shape. By integrating the brake mounts, the brakes are positioned inward of the fork profile, which improves airflow over the front end and reduces drag.
The head tube area has been carefully optimised to ensure aerodynamic performance, torsional stiffness and compatibility with internal cable routing. Extending the trailing edge and optimising where it transitions into the top tube demonstrates consistent performance gains that widen to 1.5% at 10° of YAW.
Aerodynamically optimised tube shapes ensure that the transition between the headtube, fork, and lower downtube performs from both an aerodynamic and handling perspective in the full range of YAW conditions typically encountered by a cyclist. The lower section of the downtube has been optimised to be faster with a bottle than without, demonstrating an advantage in generating thrust from 10° including the bottle. A crucial transition with the bottom bracket provides the torsional stiffness required for optimal power transfer, which results in tangible performance gains.
The optimised and truncated seat tube profile conforms to the curvature of the rear wheel to shield the leading edge from the wind and significantly enhance aerodynamic performance by reducing turbulence.
The rear seat stay profiles are aerodynamically perfected to provide the ideal drag-defying ratio of width vs depth to improve airflow over the rear end significantly. Positioning the stays in perfect alignment with the forks maintains optimal flow attachment and reduces drag downstream of the rider for superior aerodynamics and lateral stiffness.
