When being fast just isn’t fast enough! Faster in the wind tunnel and quicker on the road, the ULTRA-AERO SL is designed to dominate, defeat the wind, and make your fastest rides even faster. In Sport specification, it's paired with Shimano's 105 12-speed groupset, lightweight and dynamic Mavic Ksyrium 30 alloy wheels, Pirelli P Zero Road tyres, and unisex Selle Italia Model X Superflow saddle. The integrated aerodynamic carbon cockpit completes this drag-defying package.
Groupset
Shimano’s first and only 12-speed mechanical groupset is the latest addition to the premium road family. 105 7100 combines pure cycling with pure craftmanship. Inspired by 105 Di2, this versatile drivetrain delivers the wide gear range, hand-friendly ergonomics and all-condition braking confidence you’ve always craved. Developed from Shimano’s Science of Speed philosophy, 105 mechanical raises accessible performance to a whole new level.
Wheelset
Ksyrium 30 Disc is the perfect entry point into high-level race performance. This tubeless-compatible wheelset's dynamic ride quality helps you roll faster and smoother while retaining a lightweight feel for climbing and accelerating. Paired with Pirelli P Zero road tyres, which balance performance with durability, for both reliability and grip. The carcass features excellent puncture resistance while keeping weight impressively low.
Handlebars
The Ribble RI-2 carbon integrated handlebar is a proprietary system that conceals every cable while providing optimal fit, adjustability, and seamless integration. This one-piece cockpit exemplifies the perfect marriage of form and function, combining a clean, cable-free aesthetic with advanced aerodynamics to reduce drag by up to 40% compared to a conventional handlebar setup. With a super-stiff carbon monocoque construction and refined ergonomics, the RI-2 system is designed for speed-conscious road riders who prioritise performance and all-day comfort.

Saddle
The ULTRA-AERO seat post features a truncated aerofoil profile that's aerodynamically optimised to reduce drag in the high-speed airflow disturbed by the rider's leg. A composite shaft absorbs road shocks for a vibration-smoothing ride quality further enhanced by a Selle Italia Model X saddle. Designed with sustainability in mind but without compromising performance, Model X features a glue-less assembly; with gel padding and a superflow cut-out for all-day ride comfort.

The ULTRA-AERO SL frameset is approved for use in UCI-sanctioned events. To comply with regulations, the supplied front fork disc brake adaptor must be swapped for the UCI-approved version included with the bike. Failure to make this change may result in disqualification when competing under UCI rules.
Both use a bespoke blend of T1000 and T800 carbon fibres, but the SL R features more T1000 in its layup. This reduces weight slightly while maintaining the same stiffness, strength, and durability.
Yes. The Ribble RI-2 integrated carbon handlebars, in combination with the frameset, enable all the cables to be fully hidden, preserving the Ultra's super sleek lines for maximum drag savings.
No. The ULTRA-AERO handlebars are exclusive to the ULTRA-AERO SL R and are only available as part of this bike.
Yes. While the aero profile can limit compatibility, the bars are designed to work with standard out-front computer mounts, which fit neatly underneath.
Yes. The extensions will bolt into the underside of any Ribble RI-2 or LEVEL 5 carbon-integrated handlebars via the mounting points used for an out-front computer mount. A computer or GPS unit can then be mounted to the extensions.
The frame is optimised around 28 mm tyres and can fit up to 32 mm, depending on the tread profile and manufacturer.
No. As a speed-focused aero bike, the frame doesn’t feature integrated mudguard mounts.
The ULTRA-AERO SL uses a 68 mm BSA threaded bottom bracket shell, allowing for ease of maintenance and enhanced reliability.
The upper and lower bearings are P16 x 40 x 52 x 7 mm 45 x 45° and ACB 40 x 51.8 x 8 mm 45 x 45°, respectively.
The ULTRA-AERO SL features two bottle cage mounts, with one on the seat tube and one on the downtube. Both are positioned to work seamlessly with Ribble Aero Bottle Cages for optimal aerodynamic performance.
The ULTRA-AERO SL uses a proprietary seatpost, available in inline or setback options and two lengths, making it easy to dial in the right fit across different frame sizes.
